99 Words

Number 32

"Void Champion" was written in classic capitals within the bright green band of the pale-gray of the metal hull. She looked a little like a classic fighter jet: a big, rounded windshield with stumpy wings carrying four rockets and an exaggeratedly wide and tall tail. The cockpit stretched a little unnaturally from the fuselage. Four manifolds protruded from the bottom: they were the missile bays.

The jet was huge. The unwieldy cockpit held the crew of four comfortably, and each human had a tiny berth. Behind that, in the narrowing hindquarters, held the ship's money-maker: twenty-tons of cargo bay.

A Word

99 Words is a pet project I started in 2011 when at college. The idea was that I didn't have time for writing, but still had passing fancies, visions, plot ideas, and the like. Instead of tossing them to the wayside, I came up with a plan to turn those notes into little chunkules of text, each 99 words long. This is section is still updated.
